I'm looking forward to it. It will also be a good check to see if it smokes under a load. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIGood news! As you said, if its man made it can break. Now get out and go camping!

Any idea what caused the cracked injector?
It happens. Most likely a manufacturing defect.
Or more likely mis-handling. Injectors are loaded in special totes to keep keep them isolated. But there's always the risk of Mr. Butterfingers being at work on any given day. Crack likely started before it was installed, then grew with heat cycles. spoon059 wrote:

I asked that but was given no clear reason. He said my fuel was good which originally I was concerned about. I guess sometimes things go bad. Everything manufactured by man is destined to fail at some point. - spoon059Explorer IIAny idea what caused the cracked injector?
- kc8yhkExplorerGlad to hear it. It could have been much worse!
- RamGuy2500ExplorerFinally got the truck back today. Mechanic said I had a cracked injector. Knock on wood its not something more major. She ran well on the way home and I didn't notice any smoke. Hopefully she's cured for good!
