Have you slept in an RV that has the bed surrounded on three sides like these both do?
We rented a Class C motorhome for 10 nights in Alaska before we bought our TT. It had the kind of bed these two TT's that you're looking at have. After 10 nights of having to climb over my DW to get up to use the facilities, I said "never again." A walk-around bed became for us a non-negotiable.
The biggest difference the tandem axle makes is in the GVWR. It's 7000 lb in the Winnie and only 4700 lb in the Apex. Think about what that means for you in practical terms. For me, it would mean that buying the Apex would put limitations on the things I take along, and ultimately a better fit to your tow vehicle. Buying the Winnie would probably cause me to end up unhappy with my tow vehicle more quickly, thus pushing me toward an upgrade in that department more quickly. Apex: maybe less comfort but more long-term satisfaction. Winnie: more comfort, but a tow vehicle upgrade sooner.
