Help choosing first RV

Jayco 224BHW
This might be an option to think about. I personally don't own a Jayco, but have read here on this forum over the past few years that they're on the upper end of a mass produced, thrown together, build them as quickly and as cheaply as possible and let the dealer face the heat industry.
That being said, a lot of people will get their 1st camper and then almost immediately start making a list of the things that they don't like or a wish list of what they want in their next RV. I know we have done that, but we don't use ours enough to buy another one.
Having looked at several bunk models, the narrow bed models like you have listed just don't seem practical as the kids get older. I have a 8 YO and I sure wouldn't want to put him on the top bunk for fear of rolling out of bed in the middle of the night. I'm sure that thousands of people have models like this, and probably have come of with some ingenious solutions to solve this problem, but still I personally don't like the narrow width.
The way I figure it, the wider bunks are better because as your kids get older, it gives them room to grow and spread out their stuff, less likely to fall out of bed at night because there is generally a wall on both sides of the bunk and lastly, it will give you many more years of camping comfort.
Go to the RV show and look around before you pull the trigger on something.
