The fridge does require 12VDC for its controller board... 12VDC either comes from the on-board converter/charger unit when plugged into 120VAC shore power or from the trailer battery setup...
Perhaps you have some Battery disconnect engaged on the 12VDC side...
If the battery is dead be aware there is a DOT SAFETY requirement for having a working battery setup for the trailer emergency break away disconnect setup to operate the trailer brakes in the event it becomes disconnected from the truck when being towed over DOT roadways. This might effect Insurance Claims for damages...
