The door stickers of a 2016 F-250 Lariat 6.7, crew cab, 4x4, short bed have the following info:
1. The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 2144 lbs.
2. GVWR = 10,000lbs
3. Front GAWR = 5200 lbs
4. Rear GAWR =6100
5. GCWR = 23,500 lbs
What are the reasonable 5th wheel pin weight and 5'ver weight for these figures?
Max tow would be 13,500# (GCVWR minus GVWR)
BUT your MAX payload (occupants/cargo) is only 2144#
So if occupants/cargo weighs 700# (300# 2/occupants, 200# 5th wheel hitch and 200# cargo) the available payload just dropped to 1444#
Using 20% of 5vr GVWR for pin weight..........that would be 7200# 5vr.
Which is unrealistic.
So using RAWR of 6100# (thought that was higher----6290#??)
take a base curb weight of 3000#.....that leaves you 3100#
200# for hitch.....2900#
14,000 GVWR 5th wheel.......20% for pin of 2800#
My 2007 SRW 3500 has same/similar ratings as your 2016 F250
My pin is 2980# with a scaled 13,873# 5th wheel
I am over on trucks GVWR of 10,000#, under RAWR and right at rear tire max load rating
Stay under a 14K GVWR 5th wheel and you should be good to go
And I an one of the 'weight police' :B
