I'm a newbie learning by experience. We tow a similar trailer at 35' tip to bumper, just under 8k with a 0211 F150 with Max Tow. Just the 2 of us and a dog so the #'s work in out - we may be a tad over though. But we have over 1800lbs of payload so it tends to work out for us. I can say that at that length and weight you will need a very good anti sway and weight distribution hitch. We were sold an Equalizer and it works well.
The ride can get bouncy and sometimes you will get moved in the lane (if you watch you can see 18 wheelers do the same) but I've not felt unsafe with it. Just came back from a couple hundred miles in the PA mountains (up to the PA Grand Canyon) and even on the back roads it was fine. The truck earned it's keep on some of those mountains but the combination of the Ecoboost and the Tow/Haul mode kept things running well. Average was about 9.0-9.2 MPG but that was to be expected.
I'd say this:
Run the #'s and see where it works out on paper. If the paper says it's OK, try it but have a Plan B of a bigger truck. We may get there eventually but for now I'm happy with what we've got and don't really feel the need to upgrade other than maybe a set of air bags to smooth out the ride.
