Help identify purpose for holes in window frame

Bottom line: Is there any reason why I shouldn't caulk these holes in my window frame that lead directly to the inside?

You can see from the photos the holes are both top and bottom. But at the top the holes are covered by a rubber insert. The bottom ones are bare.

  • Water can gather in the sliding track- the weep holes drain the track, therwise it would overflow inside.
  • It's to allow condensation on the inside of the windows to drain out. There can be heavy condensation depending on the weather conditions differing from inside to out. Caulk them up and the moisture won't be allowed to drain.
  • I just understand how they make sense. Driving rain will go directly into the body with these holes open?
  • There weap holes. They are there for a reason. Caulk them shut and you will learn really fast for them to be there
