The picture you posted is from a retro (new) rig. The damaged rig in question could be from a 20 year span, and built by dozens, or more manufacturers. It could also have been repainted, many times in the last half century. Hopefully the VIN, or some sort of builder's ID tag on the trailer will solve the mystery.
As for the party that suffered the damage, it probably isn't going to end well. I could see an insurance co. not willing to shell out more than a few hundred bucks, for what is, in their opinion, something that isn't worth much of anything.
