Help!!! It's hot and have electrical issues :)

I can probably pull dozens and dozens of threads on this site alone that say you can't. Now I do NOT have first hand knowledge. So maybe I'm wrong. But I have read over and over and over and over including on this very site dozens of times, that you cannot run off a regular outlet. So yes, I'd like to know whats up there cuz I'm very curious now.
