Help!!! It's hot and have electrical issues :)

My 13.5k AC runs no problem off an adapter to my house. I have checked the current draw several years ago, I forget the numbers and it was less than my wife's hair dryer would pull. However the start up a load is probably quite significant therefore, a 2000 W generator usually won't cut it,
