My real world current draws plugged into a 20amp outlet using a 20ft 30amp rated #10wire cord to a 30to20A dogbone adapter with a verified 120volts . (Each load individually checked with no other loads energized)
AC draws(13A), water heater(11A), fridge(3A), microwave(14A), toaster oven(9A), small coffee pot(4A), converter(1-12A depending on battery charge state), all 8 LED lgt fixtures(14 bulbs) on(1A), all 7 halogen lghts on(bath, bedrm, dining table)(4A).
My AC runs just fine plugged into a standard 20amp outlet with the appropriately sized cord and adapter.
Notice if someone tries to run their AC, water heater and microwave at the same time for a total of 38amps, a 30amp breaker will trip. It's all about energy management when camping with a 30amp service.
