Throw away the cushions, and make new ones! We replaced our mattress with memory foam, and have really liked it. We have a 4" mattress, with another 2" pad on top for a total of 6" on a plywood base and it works fine. Also, it can be cut to fit the shorter length of most RV beds. Have a good RV tech check out everything mechanical, stove, water heater, and furnace. Look at wiring for damage also.
