So... after all that, where solving the 'how the heck' riddle proved to be an accomplishment in itself- I assume you've got your faucets changed? Pics?
I did find the reference to JaysNest (no capitals) article you mentioned removing the pedestal..One good picture of the pedestal attachment and what you were up against. Might have helped-well identifying the pedestal not coming off...
