Help with buying a new shank

Don’t want to screw this up since I have a trip planned this Thursday! I bought a new (used) truck and need 4” more inches, new truck sits 4” lower in the rear.

I’ll attach pics if my current setup. Recomendations appreciated.

  • Be careful when opening. You might think you are level but just off a little makes a dent

That is the place...they sort of share building
  • Thanks all for the help. Went to Hwy Trailers next to Paul Everts and they hooked me up with what I needed. Got one long enough, but 1/2" clearance from hitting my tailgate!
  • If there is a Curt shank that would work for you, they have a warehouse in Sumner, WA with a "Will Call" desk. You could order it from any Curt dealer and pick it up in Sumner.

My recommendation. In my case (and same brand) ...looks simple enough. just get higher shank. Went to Camping World (Fife) got higher shank. But turns out tailgate clearance was a problem with different trailer. Had to also get with longer shank. Camping World wanted a week to order in what I needed. Someone told me to try this RV place. Counter person in parts (been there for years) very knowledgeable although is not very friendly. Take pic's with you...And only place that had what I needed in stock. Local U-Haul place had tools big enough to torque.

OK, thanks for the info, kinda what i'm looking for, real world experience like the tailgate in the way. Would have never thought of that. I know there are possibly a lot of variables with something like this and i'm kinda new to the TT WD hitch scene. I had already looked at etrailer before posting this, just hope someone dialed in could give me a definitive answer.

Hope it works out for you. Not a lot of parking. I would NOT bring trailer. Take pic's with trailer level with tape measure. He can get stuff overnight unlike Camping World. I probably have what you need in my shed, you can have it free. But price will be eaten up by driving and time (Sea Tac area). North of Fife Camping world, past Q casino, then just after light on right.

(EDIT...Casino is not Q but Emerald Queen I think)
