The issue with the Ram is that it will definitely sag when pulling that trailer unless you opt for the air bags. The linear spring rate coils are not like the progressive spring rate coils in the HDs(except got Power Wagon). From my experience of family members that have Ram 1500s and use them for towing, they are not like the other makes half tons which reflect in their low GAWRs and payloads compared to Ford and GM. They have smaller brakes, smaller axles with only 5 lugs, and softer suspensions unless you get air bags. I have not driven or towed with the new GM 1500s, but I have with the Ram and Fords. I can tell you that there is a night and day difference on how each one feels towing especially in an HD F150 that feels more in control than the bouncy Ram 1500 does without air bags. I have towed in the last bodystyle of GM trucks and they are right up there with the Fords in regards to towing control and stable feel. If you are going to tow that much and want the Ram, then I would consider the HD 2500 with the 5.7L. It is not that much more and it will definitely give you a better towing experience.
