Well, yes Soundguy. Pretty much. I started with a 1500 and quickly discovered it wasn't enough truck for the camper I bought back in 2013. Since this was our first ever camper, I went with what the dealer told me. "Your truck is fine. It can handle this camper." I do use weight distribution with my Propride P3 hitch. I don't crank it way up but since it doesn't raise the back of my truck regardless of how hard I crank on the spring bars, I go about half way. I have no idea without going to a scale if I'm transferring weight or not but I assume I am at least to some extent. So where are we going?" We've been on three small trips so far this summer. We went to 4 Mile Creek State Park on Lake Ontario over Memorial Day weekend. We went to Cooperstown, NY to visit the Baseball Hall of Fame and stayed at Glimmerglass State Campground and we went to Ithaca NY to hike the Gorge. We stayed at Robert H. Moses State Park. All three were dry camping trips and we had a blast. In a couple of weeks we're going to Geneva On The Lake in Ohio and staying at a Sun resort with full hookups. It will be our 25 wedding anniversary trip. It's what my wife wanted and it beats the heck out of buying diamonds or spending thousands and going to the Caribbean or someplace like that. Over Labor Day we'll be at Allegany State Park. It's Close to home. Maybe a 40 minute ride. To end the Summer, during the first week in October we're going to Nick's Lake State Campground in the Adirondack mountains. We would like to go more often but my Wife is still working so until she retires, our trips are limited to a half a dozen long weekends during the summer.
