This isn't going to be popular here on this forum, but I am speaking from personal experience. I used to be in the automobile industry having an unlimited size and number of trucks. I have done weekend trips from Houston, TX to North Dakota and back on more than one occasion with a 10 horse trailer. So before you get into experience I would say I have more than 90% of the people here.
The limits are the limits, unless you are going to be in the hill country in most of those 200 miles I would feel comfortable doing it. That being said I have a lot of experience towing, the rules are.
Don't tailgate!
Don't get in a hurry!
SLOW DOWN!
Be safe, no txting/drinking etc while towing.
I would get a good WDH, brake controller, and just be prepared to not be the fastest just be the smartest. I have always said look at your daily driving first if this is your daily driver and then the part time load. When I had topkick's as demo's they didn't even run 70mph so I didn't get into a hurry but just drove to the conditions, that is the golden rule.
Would a 3/4 ton be better at towing your load, more than likely, but I wouldn't give up my other 95% of daily driving comfort for the little bit of having more speed and not having to be as safe.
