Help with truck capabilities
Hello all, Can my truck pull this? I am new to the travel trailer world and am currently looking at purchasing a Jayco Eagle 324 BTS. This trailer is about 36 ft long and has a dry hitch weight...

I am a firm believer now of get what you want now...I have been apart of the trailer family for along time...3 trailers and 4 pickups..150 to a 350 diesel then a 250 diesel now have a 2500 diesel. Trailers kept getting longer and heavier. I remember asking what I should get to haul my trailer..everyone said a diesel...so I picked up a 1 ton diesel...it didn't travel any better than my 150..I asked again, what is wrong...they all said its the truck. Even though they all told me to get a diesel..none one of them said to get a turbo diesel...BIG difference...Lesson learned..so I picked up a 250 TURBO diesel..they then told me that the 6.0 was a big POS..I told them all to bite it and have never been back to that forum. I have looked and looked at what people use to haul...Being in Montana, I see alot of horse trailers and travelers with the Rodeo..big campers hauling 6-8 horse trailers...80% of them are running the cummins, and most of them being the 2500....must be something about that.
You get the truck that fits you, has the options you like and you will find haters that will say its a POS... Ford, Chevy, Dodge...get tired of hearing it...
but I will agree with all of them here, the 150 will get squashed by that trailer. Mine is 34'-4", and right around 1000 pound hitch and had my friend move my trailer just to the front of the house once, he had a 150...it dropped the hitch nearly 8", and the trailer wasn't even camp ready.
