I use Prestone RV anti-freeze that contains no alcohol. It does a good job lubricating, and will not evaporate from your toilet over the Winter like ethanol. It leaves no taste, and will not stain. I pay 5 bucks a gal at my local Walmart. I have noticed several others that state no ethanol/alcohol, but not cheap either. I buy 3 gal, so I can be sure to get some in the tanks, especially the black tank, to keep valve lubed.
Many folks use the cheap stuff, and are happy, so don't feel like your doing something wrong. I hear people complain about taste, stains, and evaporation, that is characteristic of cheap RV anti-freeze.
