I would probably try to find a Tradesman with the Hemi, and just save the $8000 on the bling. I would also look for it used, low mileage coming out of a rental fleet, and save another 10 grand. For what you want to tow, the 5.7 would be adequate if you bought the towing package.
But that's just how I prefer to buy my trucks. In February I paid $21,000 for a 1-ton truck in XLT trim and 19,000 miles on it. Ford dealer wanted $42,000 for a heavy half version of the same truck new, with all the options that could be put on it. I also get an extra 1000 pounds of payload because some of the bling is heavy.
My S-I-L put about $38,000 into a loaded F-150 (but not top of the line) because those were his preferences. My daughter does the same buying her minivans.
If you prefer the bling over functionality, or over saving some money, that's your preference. What someone else would do in that situation would be their preference.
