I actually have never seen a new Dodge 1500 with a diesel in it. Until this post, I didn't even know they existed. And I live in 'truck country'!
I was recently in the customer lounge of a local FCA dealership while getting my 3500 serviced. They were bringing in a 1500 EcoDiesel through the elephant door to display in the showroom. That is the quietest ICE at idle I have ever heard in my life. Then I looked at the sticker when they finished.............:E:E:E Really???????
You know what they say. "Silence is golden"
Have you looked at the price of the F-150 or the 1500 GM twins? Equip the F-150 with the EB and it costs the same as the ED trim level for trim level. But the ED makes a whole lot better fuel mileage for the same money. Ford didn't decide to put a 3.0 liter diesel in their F-150 just for the hell of it. They need to meet the higher fuel mileage coming up and twin turbos wont cut the mustard in that area.
