My son's Jeep does the start/stop thing. It does take some getting used to. He doesn't seem to mind it at all now. You can turn that feature off if you want. At least you can with his Trailhawk. I don't know how Ford does it but I'd be surprised if you couldn't shut theirs off too.
You can only shut it off for each driving session. It defaults back to on after starting it up.
Some members of F150forum.com have found a way to put a jumper in a harness to deactivate it permanently. Next year, the 3.5L Ecoboost will have the start/stop feature as well which isn't comforting to a lot of F150 future buyers.
