Hi My name is Bucky and I'm a truckaholic

I must be. I have a perfectly fine truck for our current needs, but can't stop shopping for the next one. My random thought for the day is that the new Ram 1500 3.0 diesel has almost exactly the same HP and torque that my early 99 powerstroke did. Pretty amazing. The 1500 doesn't fit my needs, but the technology of all the newer trucks is marching on quickly.

  • A quick look at the prices of those new trucks should clear up your syndrome. It sure does for me!
  • Began towing in 1989, went thru 2 pickups, one Nissan UD and when we retired, bought a 1996 FL60 Freightliner. Said at the time it will be our last truck, so far it has been. We tow now a 38' HH. YMMV

Don't worry....you're not a true truckaholic until you begin dreaming of at least a 3500 or you've got it really bad when you dream about a Class 8 (HDT) truck.

1500s are just cars with shoulder pads....LOL

    Ha Ha that's funny
  • LOL. I'm with you. Even if I'm not planning on buying, I am reading all I can on line. When I am buying, it's worse.

  • While I think the idea of the new light duty diesel pickup trucks is a great one, I just have to find the idea of a Dodge Ram with an Italian engine produced by a company owned by Fiat and General Motors so totally ironic...

  • Slowly step away from the truck.
Now, before you make any decisions....check the PAYLOAD of that new RAM "diesel." You might be surprised.
