I must be. I have a perfectly fine truck for our current needs, but can't stop shopping for the next one. My random thought for the day is that the new Ram 1500 3.0 diesel has almost exactly the same HP and torque that my early 99 powerstroke did. Pretty amazing. The 1500 doesn't fit my needs, but the technology of all the newer trucks is marching on quickly.

Slowly step away from the truck.Now, before you make any decisions....check the PAYLOAD of that new RAM "diesel." You might be surprised.

While I think the idea of the new light duty diesel pickup trucks is a great one, I just have to find the idea of a Dodge Ram with an Italian engine produced by a company owned by Fiat and General Motors so totally ironic...Brian

I hear ya Bucky, when my wife sees me on the laptop she always ask's me if I am "looking at that truck porn again". I always shamefully sigh and admit, yes... yes I am.

Then beg for a new truck!

Some kind of air brake training and endorsement on drivers lic ,just for peace of mind.
If not required a operator of these large MH should educate themselves at the very least.

I think you were wise to get a commercial duty medium duty truck, rather than a pickup or a light medium duty, based on a pickup.

Frame size, suspension components, engine, transmissions, build quality, durability...all at a medium duty level.

I'm still surprised that more don't go that route.

I depends on the state. We are in TX and if the CGVW is over 26K and the trailer is over 10K, you will need a Class A EXEMPT, a non commercial license.

I see some dudes driving 45ft motor homes that look just like a grayhound bus, just have never ask them what type lic they had as it really was none of my business.
last year at one camp ground the guy next to me and his son had two of the big ones, I watch them park. They backed into the spot easier than me with my little 27ft trailer.

No special lic required,as most are motorhome registered.Maybe a non commercial DL depends on state.
