I didnt mean to imply that I would be using a 2' extension. I meant that with the bike on the carrier it would be close to being about 18"s away from the hitch, I could not tell from your picture which carrier you had but I am sure it is probably similar to mine. Now that info about the headlights will have to be considered, as I would be driving from Florida to 'Out West' a lot at night I may have to carry on back till I get over the long distance driving, then put it in front to give access to the TC. I am not too worried about dragging in back as I have a dually with air bags,it sits high and i wont be doing much off road, just want access to the TC with bike loaded.
Then an 18" would be that much better!!
I can not access my camper with the bike on the back. Handlebars are in the way of the door. But what I am thinking of doing is welding a 2" pipe the same diameter of the handlebars to the center of the bars pointing backwards. Then pull the bars off and re attach to clamp by the 2" pipe. Then the bars would sit 90° from original position. Trail 90's did this but their system was more sophisticated!!
