I use Valvoline Crimson on my wheel bearings and suspension parts, the ball gets a squirt now and then.
Problem I have with greased balls is they get really dirty. I tend to drive lots of dusty dirt roads and two-tracks, grease makes sure that the dust sticks to everything.
