Holding Tank Terminations

A coworker recently purchased a 2021 Prowler 271BR. He's telling me that his Black Tank valve must be open for him to be able to empty his Gray Tank. This does not seem correct to me. Is this SOP for some rigs, or has there been a mistake in manufacturing?

Doesn't sound correct to me. There should be two valves. And as already mentioned, it would mean that both tanks would be connected at some point, either during dumping, or all the time.

I guess it could be possible but doesn't sound good.

Yuck! That would/could cause the black tank debris to make it's way into the tub/shower.
