Hole on exterior shower

I have a 2009 Fleetwood TT with an exterior shower and the shower faucet has a hole by the location the hose hooks up. Is this just so the shower has no pressure?

  • Yes, that is a vacuum breaker/backflow preventer on top of the valve. It should not leak water during use but will open and drain some water when turned off. Its purpose is to prevent dirty water from being sucked back into the system and contaminate the fresh water.
  • yes. A hole located on the underside of where the hose hooks up. I will get a picture and post it.
  • Hole? Shouldn't be a hole. There is a backflow preventer built into the unit that will relieve pressure when the valves are turned off.
