- beemerphile1ExplorerYes, that is a vacuum breaker/backflow preventer on top of the valve. It should not leak water during use but will open and drain some water when turned off. Its purpose is to prevent dirty water from being sucked back into the system and contaminate the fresh water.

- beemerphile1ExplorerHole? Shouldn't be a hole. There is a backflow preventer built into the unit that will relieve pressure when the valves are turned off.
