Sorry I don’t have any pictures… this was a new 2000 Sunnybrook bought in 1999... the tank fell out in NC in the spring of 2001…
The flat stock was about 1 ½” x ¼”… one was located about 2” in from each side and one run at the center… there was tabs welded on the cross members to bolt the flat stock to…
Pretty simple repair but a permanent one…
Did you find yourself asking, "..how hard would it have been to do this right from the factory?" I sometimes wonder if my next career is going to be building high-quality travel trailers. It would be so easy just to bump up the quality with just some attention to detail on the production floor.
Yes it was an incredibly easy fix and just 2 straps 3 or 4 inches in from the sides would have been plenty… even the ¼ inch was over kill but it was what was handy in the shop… and the best part is it requires no OSB or plywood to support the bottom of the tank, although one could easily be added by using longer bolts…
Although frame rails that didn’t flex so much that would of kept the tank in the trailer, and they do make ribbed tanks that won’t turn into belly busters for just a few dollars more…
Quality engineering is on par with the rest of the industry…
What amazes me the most is the same inherent problems they had going back to the 90’s still remain today…
And if someone calls them today with one of those problems, they act as though its news to them…
Your not going to believe this but yours is the only one!!!
