I wonder how much of the tank bulging is caused by improper filling? I have seen folks run a full size hose into the tank and turn it on full blast and walk away. They turn the water off later when the water is spewing out the fill hole. This can put alot of pressure in the tank when the venting is not adequate for the the input.. If you brace the bottom solid so it cannot bulge and overfill the tank, it will bulge somewhere...
Be careful filling your FW tank and avoid pressurizing it...
I travel mostly with full FW water as we also often go where there are not hookups.
