I see two things here. One I see no reason whatever to haul a trailer around with any of the tanks full or even at 1/2. Empty them. I always travel with empty tanks.
I just make it easy on myself and travel with empty tanks. My guess is these designs were never intended for travel full.
These tanks SHOULD be designed to travel full.. Otherwise there isn't a point in having a self contained RV.
There is always a place to fill up your tanks with potable water somewhere on your route close to where you will eventually be boondocking. If I am traveling from ND to Utah I am going with empty tanks. I will fill up there to get out to the boonies.
If all your boondocking is a few hours drive from home that is a different matter.
I respectfully disagree, 4x4 Dodger. The trailer is intended to be able to have the tanks full, moving or not. If it can't do that and be able to withstand the weight of the water, then something should be redesigned to handle it. The notion that the tanks should not be filled when moving is almost the same is saying the tanks should NEVER be filled...period. That does not comport with the name of the equipment, "travel trailer".
