Which model Firestones? The OEM Firestone H/Ts that came on my Ram were the fastest wearing tires I've ever owned. The were shot at 27,000 miles. They might make some decent tires, but the H/Ts are not one of them.
Interesting, I have the HT’s in the 18” on my Ram with 35,000 miles. Based on current wear, I can see getting another 20,000 on them. I’ve not heard good things on the AT’s however.
HT is strictly on road tread, AT is on/off road more aggressive tread, and you'll always get less mileage the more aggressive the tread pattern no matter the brand. I assume you're talking the Firestone Transforce which is the commercial rated tire comparable to the Bridgestone Duravis, and also comes OEM on the GM HD's. My 2013 Silverado had the Firestone Transforce HT and from what I remember were still in great shape when I traded it on the GMC 2500 in 2015 @ 26K miles.
Anyhow I am back to steak, well at least Pork chops. I made an offer on a set of Bridgestone Duravis M700 2000 mile takeoffs @ 125 each. The brother in law has a mounting machine and spin balancer so that's a freebie, and at least upgrades me to center cut chops. - jerem0621Explorer IIRV’s are like boats...break out another thousand.
Except I can’t come up wirth a funny acrostic for RV. Because so many times they are not recreational...especially if you don’t do preventive maintenance. They will ensure that you break down at the most inopportune moment if you don’t maintain them...
OP I’m glad you are doing this now. While no one can guarantee that a break down will not happen, preventive maintenance is a very very good thing and goes a long way to making this hobby actually relaxing.
Thanks!

IMO, there isn't a LT 265-70-17 tire made that's worth anywhere near that much $. They are dime a dozen for about $100 a pop for takeoffs (if you are near a city) or under $200 for pretty much any other brnad/style unless you get into expensive mudders. Even Toyo ATs can be had for under $200 in load ranger 121.
Food for thought, maybe you can eat steak next week AND ave new tires!
This why I am surprised we don't hear more about the Sailuns. I guess no different then all the skeptics when it came to the Sailun S637's , not anymore. - cummins2014Explorer

My 2014 Ram 3500 OEM's were the Firestone Transforce HT's ( 275/70/18 ) , and were done at 30K, and that was pushing them. Terrible tire, they were no different then another set of firestones that came on a new Superduty . Worse tires for wear that I have ever had, next to the Michelins.
You are one of the rare ones that report any decent mileage out of those OEM Firestone Transforce HT's or AT's.
As said I am surprised thats there is no reports on these Sailun Terramax AT's, not sure how long they have been available. They are very reasonable on price . 50K wear warranty. Same tread pattern as the Toyo's, Coopers , etc. - Grit_dogNavigator II

40K is outstanding for a tire with an on/off road tread pattern almost only driven on western/central PA's mountains and curving secondary roads. I have had plenty of Michelins, Firestones, and some other brands that were lucky to go 30K. Goodyear the worst....20K.
Some nosepicker at the tire store will probably take the old ones and run them, because I dont wait until they're down to 1/16" of tread so I can slide around this winter. I could probably get another 10K+ if I wanted to push it.
I really like the Duravis, but like Grit said no tire is worth that price. I talked myself out of them. I also really like Pittsburgh Rare Ribeyes.
Mmmmmmm! Ribeye....droooool! - cummins2014Explorer
