Honda 2k and rain
Figured I would ask here since more Tc owner have them, but is my Honda 2k made to get wet in rain storms?

The instructions say "don't run it in the rain." These things are costly electronic devices, and are by no means waterproof. If you want to risk frying your $1000 generator in the rain, that's your prerogative. Maybe you've got $1000 to burn. Many of us don't. Don't deride the people that choose to protect their investment.

Yes you can do what you want to keep your generator "like new", including welding up exhaust and roof stacks into a trailer but the fact of the matter is they will operate just fine in almost any condition short of submerged or laying on their side.
Do I leave mine sitting out on a stump in the forest with moss growing on it? No, I store it inside when not in use for long periods, but I sure as heck don't take it in out of the rain if I'm running a submersible pump at work during a rain storm or microwaving a hot pocket during a blizzard in my camper!
