I sugest that you try adding a Supco SPP6 hard start capacitor. The cost about $15 and installation is simple.

I actually used the SPP6E. One other thing to remember is that the newer A/C units use less electricity. When I was doing this mod I found that the Dometic 13.5's made in the last few years use a couple of amps less than the ones made 10+ years ago. Even so, the SPP6/E solution should help you.
