Honda EU2000i or A/C issue. Help

I bought a 2007 Outfitter Apex 8 about a month ago. Last week I got a new Honda EU2000i so I can run my A/C on the Texas Beach. I've only been able to get the A/C to start 1 time out of 20 tries. It's a Coleman Polar Cub 9500. Everything I've read says it should work fine but it doesn't. It runs fine on shore power 110v. Anybody got any ideas why it won't work?
Thanks for the help.

This may not apply, but are you going through a surge guard? Surge guard may be tripping due to a compressor start-up caused voltage sag.

    ??

    Sorry it's a EU2000i. Typo
  • I have a Tundra 12 volt Frig and Water Heater is off. I'll check to be sure the converter is off. I'm not fimiliar with the Hard Start cap but I'll check on it. Where do I find the hard start cap and how do you check it?
    Thanks for the help guys.

x2, a Honda2k should handle a 9.5k AirCon but it is a large load. If the converter is providing significant charging to batteries or hotwater is on electric and element on then the H2k isn't going to do it
  • Also make sure the converter, water heater, and fridge are not on AC power.
  • Make sure the hard start cap is present in the AC or hasn't blown. Your Honda should not have any problem with it so the fault probably lies with the AC itself.
