I read a message awhile back about Ford trucks. It said 98% of them are still on the road. The other 2% made it home. :)Just kidding ! I actually like Fords.

My wive's cousins husband has a 03 in Phoenix, AZ and his dash is trash. But the rest of the truck has been very dependable for them.

I agree, nice looking truck Don, however the vintage Ram that suffered from horrible dashboards is the 96ish thru early 2000 I believe, at least in my experience. I've never seen a cracked dash on a 2002 or newer.

My buddies 99 Ram had a hole big enough to fit my fist through, and that was back in ~2004/5 ish. His 2001 3500 Ram also has a dash that is falling apart. Now I admit that Houston is hot with alot of sun, but my 1995 F-150 that I sold last year still had an imaculate dashboard after 20 years exposed to the elements. Perhaps the Texas sun only beats up on Dodge/Ram products =)

But as I said before, the beauty of a crappy interior is that it won't leave you stranded.

I was a Ford lover for 45 years, drove nothing but Fords and Mercury's, I made the choice to go with Cummins/Dodge for a diesel, based on Cummins reputation not Dodge. I will say, I have really enjoyed the combination, not only a great engine, but a very good body and interior.

Wishful thinking. The Ram is a lot of things, but a quality/durable interior is not one of them, especially your particular vintage. Google Dodge Ram Dash crack: clicky

The nice thing is that a gaping whole in the dashboard of a 6 year old truck won't leave you stranded on the side of the road, but looks terrible, though I supose it would make working on the blend doors really easy.

My 98 2500 has about 400K now and the dash looks new (sold to my Son). I recently bought a 98 with 313K not one crack.
