It doesn't matter. Absolutes are generally not correct. There is nothing in that statement that could be considered accurate considering the parameters "a diesel" and "any gasser".

Not to pile on, but run a 2009 Super Duty V10 against a pre-2003 Cummins and suddenly anyone holding the belief that "any" diesel beats "any" gasser is going to be mumbling to himself.
Just love it when people compare products that are over 5 years apart in tecnology.
Well, in THIS case it was appropriate because 64 believes that "any" diesel beats "any" gasser.
Otherwise I agree, ridiculous to compare the 2.
BTW, I just love it when people compare an engine that has a turbo (diesel) and a naturally aspirated motor :W
