How about going from a '01 5.9l gas to '01 5.9l diesel to '05 Hemi 1500 to '07 5.9l diesel to an '04 Hemi Durango to '07 Hemi 1500 to '06 5.7l Hemi 2500 all with the same trailer? Does that count? ;)
For the recreational tow vehicle the point really is simple:
- Gasser gets job done (even in PA mountains), it's just not quiet... And it's not much slower anymore
- Diesel is quiet and doesn't feel like it's struggling
- Diesel made sense when it was cheaper, now 30%+ more MPG's + 30%+ more cost/gallon is a wash
My opinion now is if you can afford and want it - go for it... But it's not needed unless you're pulling day in and day out...
