Other than an alternator and water pump, the L 88 had no accessories, it came with a radio and heater delete credit. It really was a track car sold to the public.
I am not sure I understand net vs gross as it applies to my question. If the 60's used gross and today they use net, the 560 hp of the same weight with better tires should smoke the old ones. They don't.
I do understand at the wheels vs at the clutch, but I don't know if and when they changed.
I can tell you the 220 horses in the '88 Stang were the strongest.
