I'm tired of hearing "if you added a turbo". The fact is that if you added a turbo, you would void the warranty. Same goes for removing a turbo. If it would be that benificial and cost effective without causing reliability problems, why isn't OEM on the Tundra. Convince Toyota, you're not convincing anyone here.
Someone convinced Ford. Can you say EcoBoost?
Why would they put a turbo on the Tundra, so their 1/2 ton can out drag an HD diesel truck pulling a 6k trailer? I think not. Toyota did offer a supercharger kit through TDR for the Tacoma if I remember correctly.
Re: 1968 L88
The sources I have found show quarter mile times in the mid 13's for the 68 L88 427 CI (7.1L) 425 HP. Curb weight 3461 lb. Also found power quoted as high as 550 and 560 in a couple of places .
2013 Boss 302 Mustang does about the same with a 5.0L putting out 444 HP. Curb weight 3631 lb.
2014 Jaguar F Type 3.0 L supercharged V6 380 HP 12.7 seconds.
Curb weight 3558 lb
2014 Jaguar F Type 5.0 L supercharged V8 490 HP 12.1 seconds.
Curb weight 3965 lb.
So someone tell me again hanging a blower on a gasser doesn't make a difference when it comes to how it makes its power.
