Ye those are good numbers for those days. Now you have 8,000# daily driver oil burners running in the 10's.
There were more limiting factors than just your tires. Weight distribution, gears , and efficiency were other big ones. That 455 hp Vette I am talking about runs 12's but will also hit right at 190 mph top speed and pull a G in a turn and still will return 16 - 26 mpg as a daily driver. This is with no mods.
