Everyone to their own but after towing a 12'6" high 10k GVW fiver for ten years with a 5.9 Cummins with 235 HP 460 lb ft in front of a 4 spd auto, I think a much lower 6k TT behind 220 HP 420 lbft and a 8 spd auto would do just fine.
My 200hp 6.5 is down to less than 30 MPH in the big hills out west and in Co. It's more like 225hp because the pump and turbo is turned up a bit and it has big exhaust.
That is what the new Dodge is going to be like with a 7K TT on the tail. For most nowdays, this is unexceptable.
How many gears does your 6.5 have? My 235 HP Cummins was in 1:1 when it hit 3rd gear, The new Dodge doesn't get there until it is in 6th. It will do a lot better in the hills.
