Hot Water is Only Warm Water

This issue might be a continuation of yesterday's problem. Yesterday my issue was that the water was not heating up. Well after an hour or so it got hot but today, the best I can get is somewhat warm. My unit is new and I am waiting for service to call me back but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I was thinking about turning off the electric heating switch and waiting and trying again.....but open to other suggestions.
  • You need to test. Bypass valves usually need to be closed. The valve that allows antifreeze to be drawn in by the pump needs to be closed. The valve that allows cold water to be drawn into the botton of the HW tank needs to be open. If there is a line between the hot and cold sides, that valve also needs to be closed. Also check to be sure you did not trip the breaker.
  • It is an Atwood W/H. I am trying to heat the water with electric. I did check outside shower and in door as well. When I de-winterized yesterday should all water valves by heating unit be open? I know the by pass valve is open now but what about the other two?
  • This can happen when one of the shower heads is turned off at the head when the water valves are left open. Hot and cold can mix. Check inside and outside showers.
  • Did you accidentally turn it off? Check to be sure the outside shower is not on, do you have gas? Or are you trying to run it on electricity? W/H brand? Did you try resetting the high temp sensor?
