Why does it "bother" other campers? Mine light the front of my TT in whatever color I chose. Looks good and doesnt seem to bother anyone. No more so than any awning light would/could.
To answer the OP I mounted mine on the awning roller facing back toward the TT. I connect at the end and run the wire and transformer down the awning leg using velcro straps. I then just plug that into an extension chord that plugs into AC pushing all the extra cable under the TT. I disassemble for travel and storage.
