Well it turns out the insurance company has us by the gon***, since the specific part that failed isn't the "fuel pump" itself (which is a separate and additional pump), but the "fuel injector rail pump". That specific part is only covered with the company's "premium" policy, which we don't have. So the lesson is to not buy a contract like this without reading ALL the details. There's a reason certain part failures are only covered by higher premiums! Thanx to all who have responded, nice to know there are folks out there who are willing to share their knowledge & opinions
