Every Spring brings a total cleaning of the TT. Since I have never found a caulking that resists the accumulation of dirt, mold and mildew, I am always faced with getting it back to white again. If it's bad enough I have to dig it out and apply new.What do you use to clean the caulking around the TT? How do you do it?

Any distillate works well on a rag applied sparingly. Mine cleans up well when I do my annual hand polishing. I use NuFinish and it does contain petroleum distillates. It does make my fingers sore though. I Just polished it last weekend.

Denatured alcohol and a good stiff brush.

Mold Armour works great, at Walmart Lowes Home Depot. I like it because it has no bleach.

This might sound silly and like a lot of work but a few years ago Tony taped off and painted the caulk with a good latex paint. The caulk now cleans to bright white with just a normal wax job. Painting won't work on silicon caulk and it must be squeaky clean before painting.

LA's Awesome x2. At the Dollar Tree for, oddly enough, $1 for a 24 oz sprayer bottle and they have a 32 oz refill for another $1. It'll clean a multitude of things and the price is certainly right. There are several products in the line, but this one is a sorta yellowish color.

The latest thing I have used, and for the first time this year, is a product called LA's Awesome. I found it at the Dollar General Store. I sprayed it on, scrubbed it with a tooth brush and wiped it off. It did a fabulous job. The cleaner comes concentrated and is a fantastic (awesome) cleaner. I have used turpentine but always worry about what the petroleum distillate does to the caulking.
