If memory serves your dad or granddad started your business? You were miles ahead of people like me, who never had that family business experience and wisdom that can come with owning a business.
Also, obviously very important when you are young, is career choice, right spouse etc.
I firmly believe with money, you don't have to do everything right, just a half way decent part of it.
I made some poor money choices in my early years. Not horrible, but perhaps not stellar. But on the bright side at 31 we bought a small office building. 30 years later it has worked out very well.
So end of the day, any money from self inflicted wounds in my youth, really did not amount to much, and would not have changed where we are now, much at all.
And was I this big financial genius to buy that office Bldg? No. Some of it was dumb luck, good advice from my friend, And the youth and energy to work hard to pay it off.
