- samhain7ExplorerAlthough I said I dont let it bother me much, I will add, that I teach my kids they are NEVER to walk through someones site.
I also have a story to share...
We do a yearly trip at the Sandbanks on the beach sites, it is common for people to cut through to get to the beach. I had an elderly lady one year beside me whom we became friends with. She was wonderful with my kids and were calling her Grandma by the end of the week.
So she had some young adults cut through her site and mentioned to them to walk around. They didn't like the advice and got into an argument with her and made a comment about coming back at night. She was scared and told me about so. I sat up by my fire until 2:30AM that night to keep an eye on her, and they never came back. But the point is, you just never know right..... - KittykathExplorer IIMy brother-in-law's large seasonal lakeside site is a magnet for people taking a shortcut to the lake, even though the road is just one lot over. His two dogs are trained to poop where the traffic is heaviest. It doesn't take long for the beachgoers to learn the rules, especially the ones with bare feet. The "treasures" are picked up after the weekend. Problem solved.

It is a shame your wife is having medical issues, but that doesn't give you, her or anyone else the right to infringe upon other people. Hopefully her surgery will go well and she will recover completely. And hopefully your post was born out of fear and anger and it is not what you really believe. Your rights really don't trump anyone else's, regardless of the situation.gchackett wrote:

We boondock 99% of the time except for 5 days following Quartzsite. In this CG there is a row that completely blocks access to the lakefront from the rest of the CG unless you take a 5min detour. We make a point to walk on the edge of the campsite, but I'm not walking around because someone's panties are all bunched up thinking they "own" the entire plot. These sites are big enough to support me respectfully walking the perimeter. The whole point is this simply can't be a flat rule.
Sounds just like being to lazy to me. Its like people who circle parking lots multiple times so they don't have to walk an extra 20 feet, most of them look like they could use it too. If you can't be bothered for a 5 min detour then pony up the money and get your own lake front site. Just my opinion.
I have spent the last 33 days in the hospital with my wife attempting to get all the way around the CG by getting a new knee installed. That has since gotten a massive infection, and if the operation she is in for this moment doesn't go well, that walk will turn into a wheelchair, so forgive me if I don't really care about your opinions. Jerk....
X2...there just is no justification without asking permission. Period. - jerem0621Explorer III'm there to relax, not stress out. If they are just cutting the corner of the site traveling to the bath house or nature trail who cares.
I am not bothered at all by that. Now people poking around my RV...not welcome.
Thanks!
Jeremiah - paddywanpeepExplorerI get off my chair, walk up to them and punch them as hard as I can in the face, men, women, kids, bears, dogs, squirrels, birds, mt.lions, raccoons, skunks, cats, park police, bees, I don't care. If they say, growl or anything back I punch them in the head again. This has worked well for me over the years.
- rbrummExplorerMy wife gets upset over it, I usually don't. We commonly camp along a river and people like to walk along the bank, I'd be bothered if they stopped and put chairs in from of my view though. At another location we park close to a playground for the kids and sometimes expect other kids to run through. What bothers me is when kids we don't know stop and hang out with our kids and do not leave. They may be nice but I would not want my kids at someones site unless we spoke to a parent and they were ok with it.

But then again I throw out a hand full of these around my site................no problem! :B

There were some kids playing around my site this weekend where they shouldn't have been, driving my dog crazy so i shewed them off.
