I won't get into that.
However you do it, make sure it is working. To be positive about this, I do not use any hooks, clasps etc. on the cable.
I pull it out from the switch, run it around my TV attachment point, then thread the plug end thru the loop on the other end, then indrt it into the switch. I have replaced several over the years that fell apart when I pulled the plug.
Using a hook/clasp of some sort means that the switch will likely never be tested.
