No matter which type cable you use insure it is attached to the tow vehicle, not the hitch. over the years I have seen 3 trailers that came loose of the towing vehicle, all three were a hitch failure, and the cable was attached to the hitch and never got pulled. the whole thing came off as 1 piece, hitch, safety chains, brake away cable all hit the road together. I attach it to the license plate frame with a little hook mounted under the license plate frame. Anything except the hitch its self. this goes for the towed too.
